Laptop Touch Pad & Keyboard related problems and Cure

Symptoms: Touch Pad or buttons not working, Keyboard’s some keys not working or showing wrong characters on display.

Possible Causes: Liquid spillage, excessive use of touch pad or buttons, touch pad assembly faulty, on-board touch pad controller circuit faulty, keyboard’s some keys or connector cable faulty, on-board keyboard controller chip faulty.

Caution! Do It Yourself: In case of any liquid (water, tea, coffee etc.) spillage; you should must take action immediately and disconnect the power cord and remove the battery pack from the unit to avoid short circuit or more damages to main board.

Possible Cure: Comprehensive washing of full unit with specially formulated antistatic chemicals solvent to remove the liquid completely and vacuum & dry in a controlled high temperature clean room, replacement of touch pad assembly, replacement of keyboard, refurbishment of on-board touch pad or keyboard controller circuit.

Last Options: Replacement of main board (subject to availability) or it is the time to purchase a new unit.
